Can you imagine taking 5-10 years off your face without Botox, chemical peels, and surgical facelifts and without any kind of pain and discomfort?
About 3 years ago I stopped imagining and made it happen, by using nothing but red light skin therapy.
It is now is my official (science-backed) fountain of youth.
In a matter of days, you can use it too to get younger, radiant, toned and bright looking skin – Safely and comfortably at your own home, when ever you want to.
It’s not science-fiction. It’s Science.
3 Proven Benefits of Red Light Skin Therapy
Red light skin therapy uses LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) to emit red light waves (630 to 880 nm) which penetrate deep into your skin, boosts circulation and promotes faster collagen and elastin production.
LEDs are unique in their ability to produce the same light frequencies as lasers – But without damaging tissue.
They produce a diffused and uniform light over the treatment area – Without causing any damage or side effects (other than possible temporary redness), and without any recovery or “downtime”.
Red light waves are part of the sun’s light spectrum. When you’re out in the sun – You’re exposed to red light waves. But NASA has discovered that you can isolate only the red light and leave out the skin-burning UV rays.
Red light skin therapy allows you to enjoy the incredible benefits of the sun – Without the side effects – Aging (by UV-A) and burning (by UV-B).
Isn’t that incredible?
Benefit #1 – Natural (DIY) Facelift

Here’s a weird fact: Everybody knows that the exposure to sunlight makes your skin age faster, right?
But this is only partly true. If you’ll only be exposed to red light waves, you can actually reverse photoaged skin and make it look years younger.
It’s simple really. Red light waves penetrate deep into your skin tissues and immediately increase blood circulation and lymphatic activity in the area.
This in turn stimulates collagen and elastin production, damaged cells are quickly energized and repaired and the result?
Reduced fine lines and wrinkles, tightened, thicker and firm skin, sagging skin plumped, radiant and glowing – Like you haven’t seen in the mirror for years.
I’m not making this up just to make you happy. Dozens of clinical studies have proven this to be true.
For example, one study found:
A statistically significant improvement in wrinkles was seen after profilometric analysis. The majority of subjects reported improvements in softness, smoothness, and firmness at all time points. Electron microscopic analysis showed evidence of post-LED treatment of thicker collagen fibers.”
Another study found:
Objectively measured data showed significant reductions of wrinkles (maximum: 36%) and increases of skin elasticity (maximum: 19%) compared to baseline on the treated face in the three treatment groups.
Histologically, a marked increase in the amount of collagen and elastic fibers in all treatment groups was observed”.
(You can see more studies here)
Red light skin therapy can be used on the face, neck, hands, arms and body and is scientifically proven to be one of the most non-invasive, economical and effective methods of rejuvenating your skin and fading wrinkles and fine lines.
Benefit #2 – Scar Removal

The power of red light was originally harnessed by NASA, which proved that it helped to heal wounds and burns faster.
Red light boosts circulation and “pushes” healing nutrients to the area. This makes it a non-invasive, toxin-free treatment for scars, eczema, acne, rosacea and redness.
Biologists have found that cells exposed to near-infrared light from LEDs, which is energy just outside the visible range, grow 150 to 200 percent faster than cells not stimulated by such light.
The light arrays increase energy inside cells that speeds up the healing process.
(See this study proving the healing and restoring ability of red light therapy.)
You will probably see results after a few weeks of self-treatment at home (which is painless and comfortable) and more if you persist with treatment.
Benefit #3 – Age Spots (Hyperpigmentation), Melasma, Redness
Another (proven) incredible benefit of red light therapy is its ability to naturally brighten your skin and reduce redness, dark spots, age spots and melasma – Without the awful bleaching creams.
As we age, the damage of sun exposure, hormones, injuries and our skin type – Make hyperpigmentation worse and really contributes to an overall “older” looking skin.
I don’t know about you, but I have hundreds of freckles all over my body, dozens of them on my face.
After a few weeks of treating myself with my home red light therapy system (which I bought to reduce my wrinkles…), I was surprised to notice that the brown spots on my face were reduced in half.
I was thrilled and started using it on my hands as well (I had a few age spots there too) and after a few more weeks they were completely gone.
Research backs me up on this one too, and more than a few studies have proven the efficiency of red light skin therapy for the treatment of hyperpigmentation.
Is Red Light Skin Therapy Safe for Everyone?
Did you know that Red light therapy is being used in neonatal care units for the treatment of Jaundice?
Yes, it’s that safe.
Red light skin therapy is safe for any age, color, and skin type, and can be used on any area of the body (face, neck, chest, arms, hands, legs, etc). Those with very sensitive skin or rosacea should go slowly at first to make sure this powerful treatment does not cause a flare-up.
The best red light therapy home units are FDA approved and are now being recognized as a proven, age-defying device by many famous TV doctors, including Dr. Oz, dermatologist Dr. Eva Shamban, Dr. Ordon and many others.
LED can be safely administered in low concentrations as often as daily; and does not require a medical environment or doctor’s supervision.
The results you will achieve can be outstanding, but not everyone can use red light therapy before consulting the doctor. If you are pregnant, photo-allergic, suffer from Epilepsy or a thyroid condition (and taking medication for it) – Do not try it at home.

Where to Find Red Light Skin Therapy
What separates an at-home device from a clinical therapy is the strength of the light used. But today you can find FDA approved highly effective home devices that will bring you the same age-defying results for a fraction of the cost (in the long run).
And the best thing about home devices? You can use them when ever you want, for years and years.
I do not recommend hand-held devices anymore, because the treatment area is much smaller, the LEDs are fewer and it takes more time to get the age-defying results you want.
The Best Red Light Therapy Home Device
The DPL Light Therapy System (which I’m thrilled to own) is in my eyes the best red light skin therapy home device in 2014.
The DPL has 174 LEDs (compared to about 40 in hand-held devices) on 2 large panels, which cover your entire face in one treatment.
The LEDs produce the NASA study’s required level of energy (660 – 880 nm).
The DPL is made of 2 relatively large panels emitting red and infrared wavelengths. You can set up on any table and just relax while the deep penetrating red light works to rejuvenate, heal, de-wrinkle and brighten your skin.
You can see my full and detailed review for the DPL System – HERE.
Red light skin therapy energizes and repairs damaged cells, heals wounds, reduces scars and dark spots and stimulates collagen and elastin production – Which results in younger looking skin, rejuvenated and plumped.
If these proven benefits haven’t blown your mind – I don’t know what will…:)
It’s my idea of the fountain of youth – And it’s natural, safe and cost-effective.
(By the way, red in infrared light therapy is also my favorite and most effective way to relieve any type of ache or pain – Without any medication. It’s like magic. But that’s the subject of a whole new article.)
